NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 4, 2026) — New Orleans-born, Nashville-based rock artist and visual director Cook Allender will release his electrifying new single, “Free,” on Friday, March 6 via VibraHive Records — a high-octane declaration of autonomy that captures the restless spirit of choice and the power of self-determination.
At its heart, the track reflects the privilege of living in a place where choice is possible — where freedom means the ability to go left, right, turn around, and decide your own path, as long as no one else is harmed.
“This song is about throwing off the shackles,” Allender says. “No rules, no lanes, no stop signs — just water and wind.”
The chorus delivers the thesis: “It’s my life to choose, it’s my soul to lose.”
“How lucky we are to live in a country where we have choices,” he continues. “As long as I’m not hurting you, why shouldn’t I? Freedom is being able to go left, right, turn around — it’s the ability to choose.” He smiles. “That’s why it ends the record. It’s the feeling I want people left with.”
Sonically, “Free” blends driving guitars with an uplifting, anthemic energy — a vibrant rock track that feels equally at home blasting from a highway speaker system or closing out a live set. As both a musician and accomplished visual director, Allender brings a cinematic sensibility to his sound, crafting music that feels expansive and immediate at once.
“Free” will be available on all streaming platforms March 6.

About Cook Allender:
Cook Allender is a Nashville-based rock artist delivering unapologetic, guitar-driven songs fueled by a lifelong love of ’90s alternative rock. Raised in New Orleans, he began writing original music at age seven. While his journey led him through careers in finance, the military, and the film industry, music was always the throughline, eventually calling him back with full force.
A true multi-hyphenate, Allender writes, produces, and directs his own music and visuals, bringing a cinematic edge to his releases. His forthcoming debut album is loud, melodic, and built for momentum. Rock songs designed to move people, not overthink. With big riffs, driving rhythms, and an undeniable sense of fun, his sound balances grit and accessibility in a way that feels both familiar and fresh.
His debut album, Music Your Parents Hate (5.15.26), delivers fierce, melodic, guitar-forward rock that nods to bands like Led Zeppelin, Stone Temple Pilots, and Foo Fighters without imitation. The record celebrates the fun side of rebellion—loud, emotional, and unapologetically alive.
A portion of proceeds supports no-kill animal shelters, incuding Wags and Walks, Nashville, reflecting Allender’s belief that every animal deserves a second chance. With a second album already underway, Cook Allender is fully committed to the path he was born for—making music that feels big, honest, and built to be felt.
